When in Idaho...

Do what Idahoans do.
I was told not to mention that our dog, Lucy,
in lactose intolerant and is gluten free.
Or that she has her own bed.

"Mom, dogs are DOGS, around here,
They even sleep outside!"

Does sunbathing count?
I'm new in town and have a lot to learn.

Tom is HOME!
This is a picture of our grandchildren at their home,
waiting for him to come over the ridge.

I didn't get any pictures of the reunion with Tom
because I was so excited to see him.
It had been two full weeks apart.

Need Boxes?...got some!

Has it really been two weeks since I moved?
Sometimes it seems like hours and other times years.

I tackled all the boxes that I first started packing
way back in January.
It was like Christmas and birthday rolled into one.
All those boxes were stacked, in clusters, all over our garage.
No rime or reason, just a mess.
One by one, each box got emptied and the items found a new "home".

Day and night, night and day, I nested.
I can finally say, my car now has a new home.
It's called the garage!

Today, I put aside my nesting urges, to drive around to get the lay of the land and my bearings.
My goal was to find the Post Office and do a little grocery shopping.
Success!
Of course I had my trusty, driving companion,
Mrs. Johnson.
It's really a GPS.
Tom calls it a marriage saver.
(So, now it's Miss Johnson our marriage counselor.)
Yes, that's Miss Johnson on my lap as I drive.

This is not the end...
It's just the beginning!

PS;    Nampa is a Railroad town.
I'm adding this last picture for
Betsy and her boys, who love trains.
This was taken while the moving train was going across the main road
that takes you to downtown.

We moved!

My son-in-law Mark,
drove this moving truck, towing my car, to Idaho.
I rode in the big, red, van with Kimmy and kids.

This was Part II, of our move.
The final move!
No more Glorified Camping.

Between getting new carpet and unpacking all the boxes,
every hour has been filled with joy.

Not to mention spending time with our precious grandchildren.
Lulu turned eight!
A year ago, I promised I'd be with her to celebrate,
not knowing we'd be her new neighbors!

Tom is still back in Redmond (insert sad face)
 fixing, painting and
cleaning up the Cottage for the new renter.
He will be arriving this week.
Then the fun begins!

Good Morning Nampa!
This is a partial view of our new backyard.

More to come....
(when I have time)

Rejoice always; pray without ceasing;
in everything give thanks;
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Glorified Camping

This is what I call our living situation,
Glorified Camping.
Most of our furniture has been moved to Idaho.
(Yes, that's painting items on the floor.)
It will be different when we make the final move.
We'll have all the comforts of home.
No more paper plates!

****
This week has been busy visiting with friends
and favorite places.
I met my girlfriend, since Junior High, for lunch.
She has always given me roses as a gift.

****

Next day I spent at the beach.
Oh, what a beautiful day!

****

 Carillon Point,
my favorite place to wander, sit and enjoy.
That's just what I did.

****

Another friend and I "hit the streets" of Redmond.
After a year of construction,
Cleveland Street had it's Grand Opening.
The canopy of lights, is the new cross walk.

Lots of people were walking up and
down this beautiful, lite up, street.
Even the side benches light up.

****

More time with Trey.
And more selfies!

PS; Tom has worked his final day.
 He is now retired!
