Art Show, Date Night

Our pastor told us about an art show
 in a neighboring town.
I have always been fascinated with tiny
 and miniature objects.
So this caught my eye, so to speak.

The 22nd Annual Miniature Show.

Tom and I drove to Parklane Gallery,
in downtown Kirkland, for our date night.

This street is filled with "one of a like" shops.
So it was a fun, little walked to the gallery,
stopping to window shop along the way.

But once inside the gallery, I was mesmerized.
There were over 300 paintings.
Each painting couldn't be bigger than 5"x 7", framed!
Many of them were even smaller.
All were up for sale, with a minimum price of $150.00

I had some favorites.

If this wasn't already sold,
 I might of bought it!
It's called Silver and Tulips.

Because the paintings were sooooooooo small,
you could use magnifying glasses
to look up close, to see the brush strokes.
Each wall had magnifying glasses at the corners.
How cute is that?

There were several walls,
full of these unique and colorful paintings.

I think you had to be there in person to
really appreciate all the fine details.

We were blessed to be able to talked to one of the artists.
She said that she cuts her brushes down,
in order to paint all the details.
She has brushes with a single strand of hair!

These were paintings that didn't fit the criteria,
but were on display, in another area.
They were too BIG.

These are the winners!
Aren't they wonderful?
Oh yea, you can't see them.
Trust me, they are all wonderful.

Ahh.. Summer

You can't go wrong with Sun Tea.
It's easy, fast and good.
You can watch it "grow" right before your eyes.
Perfect for company or just relaxing on the porch by yourself.
Today, I'm having a young mother from church, visit.
This is perfect way to show hospitality.
Along with some blueberry muffins,
that are still baking in the oven.

Plants

Not much going on around here lately.
The ivy that I picked is ready to be re-potted.
The roses have their first blossoms.
Both of these roses were from our kids.
Thank you Todd, Steph, Kimmy and Mark for making sure I wouldn't miss my rose garden.

And now a funny moment from Tom,
 taking SELFIE.

"The appeal of selfies comes from how easy they are to create and share, and the control they give self-photographers over how they present themselves.
Many selfies are intended to present a flattering image of the person,
especially to friends whom the photographer expects to be supportive."

Tom keeps me laughing!

Praise...God is Good!

Things have calmed down around here since our grandchildren went back home.

I want to share Kimmy's blog.
It's  about Silas' journey.
The short video shows it all!

While Kimmy and Mark were with Silas, Tom and I were with the other three grandchildren.
This is what we did!

But first,
I want to show you Ila May's birthday present.
It's the cape that I made for her.
It was hard to get a clear picture because she was running all over the place .
I think it was a hit!

There were Tea Parties almost everyday!
Tea Parties by herself, with Papa, with Grammie-Goo and with her sister.
Lulu even had a tea party with her brother, Levi.

We also did chores.
Levi was in charge of the vacuuming and
Ila May was my helper with laundry.
Lulu was the all around helper!

But there was plenty of playtime!
Papa was the big play toy, a lot.

Below Papa was decorated with clothes pins.

Kimmy, Levi and Lulu had to try.

What a good sport, Tom!

The weather was wonderful.
We ate and played outside most of the time.

Climbing was the newest activity.

Running in the park.

Levi's helping with lunch, egg salad sandwich is his favorite.

 Craft time
 Ila May combing my hair

Kids playing with our bed, that moves up and down,
both head and feet
We called it, Burrito Time.

Good-byes are always hard but this was
a good , good-bye.

Our hearts are full and FIXED!

When we look around, Tom and I find little reminders of
what was...

And Lucy???

Well, she is back to doing what she loves best,
patrolling the back alley for dogs and other friends.

Kimmy is right there, while Mark is taking pictures.

The ventilator was taken off a short time after he was in recovery!
This was huge because they said he'd have it for several hours or even days.

Show and Tell

The cleaning is finished!
We are ready for Silas and family.
They arrive tomorrow.

Let me back track a bit for you.
Silas is having open heart surgery on May 6th.
The hospital is over here, in Seattle.
They live in Idaho.
Tom and I will be taking care of the three older children,
while mom and dad stay with Silas,
Our cottage is very small, 750 sq. ft.
So we rearranged, added and cleaned.

I thought I'd share our living room and dining room with you.

I probably won't be around much in the next few weeks.
I'm going to be busy, being grandma.
My favorite  thing to be these days.

Silas turned One Year, old today!

Here he is eating cake for breakfast.

Until later.....

God is Good!
