What's Up?

This is my favorite tree this time of the year.
Everyday I stop and admire it.
Soon it will loose it's leaves.
I'll have to wait until next year for it's beauty.

Both of our kids and their families got together to
enjoyed a weekend together.

Our son Todd
Our daughter Kimmy
And their kids.....

Scarlett, Silas, Ila May, Huxley,
 Lulu, Trey, Levi, Nathan and Isaac.

This is all of them!
(Hi Mark and Stephanie)

 God has blessed us more then I
ever knew He would!

Just one more picture!
Ahhhhh.....

🌻🍁🌻🍂🌻🍁🍂🌻🍁🍂

Our church has a Harvest Festival each year.

There are so many activities to participate in.
Relay races, tug of war, horse rides, make your own caramel apple,
hay rides.
This year the younger kids had
Pumpkin Play Dough.
Each could make a tiny pie out of the play dough and take it home.

Kimmy was in charge of this activity.

Every family had a chance to get photo taken.
So fun!

 For the Foodies in our church,
we have two contests.
A Chili contest and
 the most popular, the
PIE CONTEST!

This year there were over 25 pies entered!!

Tom has been a Pie Judge for the 3rd year in a row.
A highly coveted position!

Angie and I were in charge of this event.
 A lot of stress!
Boys, girls, women and men all hovering over
the pies, debating which looks the best.
Or wondering if theirs won!

When the Judges were done, the winner is announced.
Plates and forks came out and everyone digs in.

Whew!! Our job is done!

Ila May made  her 1st Apple Pie and entered it.
No ribbon but it was delicious.
Here she is showing off her pie and
 her play dough pie, too.

📜📢📜📢

Every year we gather around in a huge circle
and listen to someone's testimony
 before we bless the food and eat.

This year Tom told his story.

It was wonderful!

This is Tom with a microphone.
Tom wanted me to stand next to him, which was an honor to stand shoulder to shoulder with him.

Until next Harvest Festival...

Playing and Visiting

Harvest Party
2016

Our church has an annual Harvest Party every year.
It's always fun, rain or shine. This year it was rain,
But that doesn't matter!
We're from Seattle!
What's a little water?

1. Invitation
2. The ride over, so Fall'ish
3. Craft table
4. Hay ride for small kids
5 .Cowboys!
6. Leaning how to Rope
7. Lulu's apple pie for the contest.
8. Lulu looking on...
9. Papa is a judge this year!
(No, Lulu didn't win. She was happy for the girl who did win)

Saying Good-bye

But before we left for a trip to Seattle,
we spent sometime with our daughter's family.
We celebrated Reformation day!
Activities went on all day long.
This was the scene when we drove away.
We'd be gone for two weeks.
It was quite the send off!

Two weeks in Seattle.

So much went on while we were in Seattle/Redmond.

First stop...
hugs and kisses from these two!

Trey (4yrs) and Scarlett (1 yr.)

Tom and I also watched the World Series.

Congratulations Chicago Cubs!

Todd and Stephanie  hosted an
early Thanksgiving for
Tom's side of the family.

We spent a lot of time with our grand kids.

Trey and I baked banana bread.
Trey loves my banana bread.
"Omie, we ran out of banana bread!"
So, every few weeks,
I bake a loaf and mail it to him.
I tell him that I put a lot of LOVE into each loaf,.
That's why it's so good.

This is a jar of LOVE .
We used a pinch of it when we made our loaf.
(sugar!!)

Scarlett loves her Papa!

Trey was so excited to show me how he
can draw a sailboat and spell his name.

Tom and I also took sometime to just relax and
enjoy some familiar places.
Coffee!!!

The weather was BEAUTIFUL.
They were calling it
"Mayvember"

Little more love from Papa...

We won't be back until after the new year.
Glad we brought over all the Christmas gifts!

Harvest Festival, Nampa Style

This was Tom's first time to our church's
Harvest Festival.
He had plenty of escorts to show him
ALL fun activities.
Kimmy and me

The Harvest Festival was held
 on a huge farm.
Plenty of room for so many activities.
Food:
Carmel apples
Carmel corn
Hot cider
(and after all the activities
we had a Chili Feed.)

Kimmy helping Ila May
Art Activities:

For some, it was a pretend cow
but Silas didn't care!

Individual  Activities:
Bow and Arrows
Lassoing
Stilts
Slides

 And then there were the
Relay Races
 (for ALL ages)
Wheelbarrow races

Go Lulu Go!
Baton Relay
Go Levi Go!

The last and BIGGEST contest was the
Tug of  War!
Above,Girls vs Girls
The younger and smaller girls were waiting their turn, while the older girls were pulling hard.

Everyone had a turn because
 the categories were vast.
Dads vs. Dad
Dads vs Boys
Boys vs. Boys
But the most anticipated was the "famous"
Mom's vs. Sons
The above picture is the mom's
working hard, to show their strength.
Everyone was yelling & cheering them on!
Mom's won!
So much FUN!

Kids gave kids wagon rides.

Later, there were Hayrides.

~~~**~~~
Every year there is a Pie Contest.
Only Apple or Pumpkin!
Lulu entered last year and decided to try again.
Here are the judges, taste testing all the pies.
Guess who won 1st Place
for her Apple Pie?
Lulu did!!
We all had so much fun,
kicking up our heels!
Looks like someone went a little over board.
