Start to Finish

We have had this Apple tree in our front yard for years.
This year I pruned the Apple tree properly (the right way) and
we got apples for the first time!
This picture was taken back in September.
I love the American flag is in the background,
but as you can see we got a lot of apples.
I wasn't going to pick the apples but
Todd, our son, persisted that I pick them.
They aren't very good for eating.

So I made apple sauce in my crock pot.
Cooking applesauce made the whole house smell so good!

    Enjoy your cooking efforts... yum!

  2. There is nothing more inviting, than walking into a warm home that smells like apples cooking, on a cold Fall day. What a great idea!

  5. I have tons of apples too, but not from my own tree! I have never tried to make applesauce. You are very ambitious.

By the way, I love the new look of your blog page. If that is what you are having for Thanksgiving, I'm buying my plane ticket to Washington now! ;)

  6. How wonderful! I have heard if you prune fruit trees they give off more fruit. Last fall someone gave me a few bags of apples..not suitable for eating, but they did make some wonderful applesauce!
