What Did You Do Today?

I went to get my drivers license renewed this morning.
The doors opened at 8:30 AM. I arrived at 8:00 AM,
only to find a long line already waiting.
But I was entertained, by watching the new drivers,
getting ready to take their drive test.
I watched a person flunk their hand signals.
This person was asked to show the signal for a right hand turn.
They proceed to extend their right arm, straight out, towards the passenger window!!
I gasped and the guy in front of me said, I thought I was the only one who saw that.
This person continued to entertain all of us until the doors opened.
(This person also flunked using their turn signal lights.)

Once inside we all waited our turn.
Hey, I'm getting pretty good at taking pictures on the sly.

 I'm next. That's my number.
Heading to booth #9.
OK... this is the embarrassing part.
Yes, I kept most of my drivers licenses.
Each time I try to take a better picture.
Each year it just gets worse.

This is what I would rather be doing...

  1. Oh I am laughing and so relate...my last experience there the clerk announced to the room full that I was turning 50!! Yes He yelled it...and as for my picture...well I look like I had died...so much for the new 50 being 40!!!

I think the last picture is the best...holding them on your lap!

  3. This is so funny Christine, I thought I was the only one who kept her old drivers license. I do dread having to go and get them renewed as I also don't like the new photos and am always afraid I will not pass the signs test.

  4. Oh, this was funny! I'm glad for you all that person flunked. They would be a danger on the road. ha.
Here in Ohio we don't get to keep our old licenses! Boy, my photo is BAD on my current one. I'm mortified whenever I have to show it. ha.

  5. Oh, Christine, I remember the last time I went to renew my license; I wanted so badly to be able to hold onto my {eight year old} picture instead of trading it in for my current one! Oh, well! You are definitely right about it being an interesting adventure at the registry! Thanks for sharing. It put a smile on my face!
    Blessings!

    PS Crystal says hello! {If you would, please say a little prayer for her. She hasn't been happy at work lately. I hope it means God has a better plan in mind for her. Thanks!}

Love that last pic! Enjoy those sweet grand-kids!

You are so brave to keep your old licenses. I disposed of mine asa I could. They were so bad! I think I had one good one in 40 years.
At least it's over and you can just
sit back and enjoy the g'children.
    They are sweet!

  7. Remember when I turned 16, I was so excited and I wore my leopard print sweater with the fur collar? What was I thinking??????? Then I was so bummed my sweater didn't even show much in the picture. Lol! But the best part was you got me out of school for it. You were/are such a fun mom.
