I rarely cook anymore.
Well, I cook but don't experiment or create fancy meals. I use to when, we had a full house and it was fun. Meals today, are the old standbys or Tom creates his concoctions (I say this lovingly).
This past weekend I tried out two new recipes.
My friends in blog-land have been inspiring me to branch out more.
Dayle at A Little Of This and That, had some very yummy looking cookies that caught my eye. Soft Lemon Coolers and so easy! Love that!

My friend Mary, at Corner of My Life, featured some Lemon-Roasted Chicken. The recipe cooks up a lot and could be used all week. That is another one of my favorite ways to cook.And I made these...

So with the help of all my Blogging Friends, I hope to creep back into the kitchen with tried and true recipes. So far it's been fun!

ReplyDeleteYum! I think the chicken and the cookies look wonderful! We all kinda fall into comfortable routines with out cooking, I think. Then after a while, something new sounds fun!

ReplyDeleteI've been doing a few more new recipes of late, because I was feeling like I was in a cooking rut..... and it tasted like it too......... nothing really wrong, but nothing really pizzaz-y either.
And.... I've been trying to cook with more vegetables as entrees. Have to say that although the recipes I'm trying are just fine, I do need to break through the old mindset of 'meat' being the main entree..... it still seems a little odd to sit down to a supper meal without it.

Well, look at you! I'm delighted to see you made my lemon coolers. I hope you loved them as much as we do. And that roasted chicken is making me hungry. I do find that the more time I spend in the kitchen, the more I enjoy it.
