Sanding the walls
My goal was to strip off All the wallpaper from our main bathroom. Even the flower paper under the mirror that the previous owners had.

And I'm glad to say, its' been stripped!
Twenty four years ago I put the paper up and this week it came down. It was about time.
My handy man was there with me all the way.
We even removed the huge mirror off the wall.
I will never put wallpaper up again!
When we are finished with this project, I will show more pictures.
Right now, it's back to work (bathroom work).

I have the same task ahead of me; that is to strip wallpaper in the downstairs bathroom. You're right, it's a good thing not to put up more! We redid our kitchen and laundry room in the last year and are still working on little finishing touches. I'm really not eager to start on the bathroom. I'll be glad to see what you do with yours:)

I feel the same way -- I won't do wallpaper anymore. I've probably papered every room of every home of mine at least once and then taken it down. I have finally learned. Now if I want a pattern on the wall, I paint it on. I'm anxious to see what you do with your bathroom. I'll look forward to pictures!
ReplyDeleteGOD BLESS YOU!! I "HATE" wall paper! Yikes...
ReplyDeleteBlessings, andrea
Very nice! I've been putting off doing our bedroom even though the steamer machine and paint rollers have been sitting behind the bedroom door for months! ha. Maybe next week! :)
ReplyDeleteChristine,
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to see the finished project! What groovy wallpaper behind the mirror! I love doing project with Wayne, aren't hubby's the best?! Oh... does this room have a name?

Hey, I am looking forward to seeing the fruit of all that labour. Glad you had a helper!
ReplyDeleteI have some wallpaper borders I put up a few years ago, and I'm loathe to think about the elbow grease it might need to remove them.
It will be wonderful for you when the job is all done, and we'll look forward to pics!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Lots of work going on there. Lucky you to have a helper. Can't wait to see what you do in there.
ReplyDeleteWere renting... so believe me. I would be right there with you in taking down wallpaper in our bedroom and repainting. What a job, though. I've done it before - so I know the time, the mess, the reward!!!!!!!!!! Hang in there. You![not wallpaper].
ReplyDeleteI do so love a remodel story!!! Will this room have a name after its makeover, too? It is great that you and your husband can work together on these kind of projects!! Evan and I... not so much! LOL! He has NOOOOOO interest in that kind of business! Can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteIt's so much better with a helper, isn't it? I'm looking forward to what the bathroom looks like when you're done.
ReplyDeleteAwaiting the after pix!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDawn
P.S. Thanks for the kind words about the shower! It was soooo much fun to do.
Still have wallpaper to take down in my 1980's house. Bleh. Can't wait to see the finished result!
ReplyDeleteWow, what an undertaking. It's gonna look nice when UR finished. Looking forward to the pix of the new b.room.
ReplyDeleteWe only had Mon & Tues off for mid winter break. Oh well, it was still nice to have 4 days off.
Take care & have a great Sunday,
Nannette
Christine, you know how you're in a hurry for a project and don't take time to properly "prep". In this case I didn't remove my mattress pads from the ottoman. Now I have teal paint on it. I think that's the face you're referring to. But that's okay -- I cover those with sheets, so what I don't see usually doesn't bother me, unless it's bugs or those kind of things. Those both me a little.
ReplyDeletePeople seem to have a love hate relationship with that darn stuff
ReplyDelete(wallpaper) What a project. You do know wallpaper is making a comeback? but I bet not at your house :) Mine either for that matter
Have a good week!
We'll be redoing our bathrooms here too in the near future. I've been wondering how we're gonna get those big mirrors off the wall without killing ourselves. Any helpful hints?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your "after" shots!
