Another High School Year Is Over

Google Images

Every year I get sentimental about the students who are graduating and moving on.
You'd think, that after so many years of working at the high school, I would get use to the students leaving, but I don't.
I will miss Anthony, who is slow but, oh... so wonderful and kind.
I will miss Kimberly, who still needs someone to tell her she is great.
I will miss Jordan who makes me laugh, just by entering the office.
I will miss Mary who was there to helped me out, everyday.
I will miss Noah, who has a very high IQ and I still can't figure out what we were talking about.
I will miss Andre, who just hung around (and needed) to be apart of the office crew.
These students came to my office everyday and helped me do my job.
I got to know them. They trusted me enough, to tell me their teenage problems and also their dreams.
Some of them I have watched grow up, in the three short years at school.
Others came to me for a brief but rewarding time.
I tried to make each of them feel important.
I tried to make memories.
Congratulations Class of 2010!

  3. Wow, class of 2010. That is just amazing to say and hear. I know they will miss you too. God has you there for them for a reason and someday they might look back and remember how you were always there for them, even if it was just to raid your snack drawer.

  4. Kids have a way of touching our hearts. I'm sure you touched theirs, as well.

  5. I know you touched their lives in a way that will add a spark which will grow and be passed on. Love you new header!!! You always have the best "vista" and the quote on the sidebar! Beautiful! Have a great day, Christine.

  6. You touched their lives too!
I can't tell you how much the kids need wonderful, loving people in their lives like you. Thanks for "living in the trenches!" with these fantastic young adults!

  7. Christine-
It sounds like you were very important to all of the students as well. You are someone they will always remember because you "invested" in them. Have a great weekend! :)

  8. What a sweet post. I wouldn't doubt it that you may have left an impact on them as much as they have on you.

  9. I always wanted to be a teacher but now I often think it was best that I didn't. I would take it too hard at the end of each year having to say good-bye. I don't do good-byes well. I would be a crying mess.
