Well, I'm at it again.
This coming August, I am in charge of converting
a utilitarian room into
something beautiful.
for a Retreat, before the start of the school year.
This year the venue is at Bastyar University.
(It's a Natural Medical facility.)
We get together for inspiration, visiting, eating and just plain fun.
All One Hundred of us.
I'm showing you the room ahead of time, just so you can see what I have to work with.
I will also show you later the room, all dressed up.

Big plans for these pillars and tables!!
Do you see the pipe at the top?
That is where I plan on hanging a lot of the huge Pom-Poms.
Our theme is:
"Grow, Learn, Bee, Excellent"
Lots of bright flowers.
Our colors are Red, Orange, Yellow and Pink.
I couldn't find any orange tissue paper.
So I bought napkins!
They work beautifully.
Just pull them apart, making two sheets.
I need to make hundreds of these.
I'm still making lots of flowers.
And I need to perfect my Master Ceremonies skills.
Yes, I'm doing it again.

Coffee Filter Flowers:
I used this a start for making my flowers.
SIMPLE-ly bee-yoo-tiful. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteThat's alot of work... and it looks like your well on your way. I used to do a lot of event planning and implementing. Half the battle of doing it is getting it (the idea to work) in your head...and then going for it.
Good job. Can't wait to see the end result.
How much fun to get together and just have fun (with a little work thrown in) I love the tissue flowers they would be great package toppers too!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteWish I lived closer to help you make the beautiful flowers! Can't wait to see the transformation!

Mom and I made lots of those for my sisters wedding, but I never heard of using cupcake papers for the middles...too cool!! It really adds to it when there's more than one color.
ReplyDeleteThey look great so far. :)
They look so fun and festive!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the "After" pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteThese pom poms looks great and thinking about all the ways I could use them. I saved the link so that I could try them out. Good luck with your dinner.
ReplyDeleteI love all of the colors... can't wait to see the room all decorated!
ReplyDeleteI remember your post about this retreat from last summer. It was one of the first times I visited your blog. So . . . I have been a follower for a year now. Last year's decor was lovely and I'm sure this year will be also. Having the chance to all get together is such a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be FUN! Looking forward to the unfolding of your creativity.
ReplyDeletePretty colours you've selected.
I really love these and the colors are wonderful!!
