A Day of Balloons

Last Friday was a day of celebrations,
 done with balloons.
We said Good-by to Arthur (our dog) with balloons.
We wrote love notes on these balloons and let them go.
The children were told that the balloons will be in heaven
waiting for Arthur when he arrives.
 Up, up and away...

Later... Friday Evening
We went over to Todd & Stephanie's home to
 celebrate Tom's 60th birthday.
We started the evening off with a balloon game.
They had blown up balloons and inside each balloon was a question.
Each of us had to pop the balloon to get our question.
Here is Stephanie tiring hard to pop her balloon.
By the way, she's pregnant and due in Aug.
We laughed and laughed,
as we tried to come up with creative ways to pop each balloon.
Next they served us a delicious crab dinner.
After dinner we got out the board games.

Fruit and whipped cream with a candle was the birthday dessert.
Thank you Todd & Stephanie for making a sad day,
fun and memorable.

  2. Contratulations to your family on your announcement of the coming grandchild! Wonderful! I'm sure Stephanie and Todd are beside themselves and pray all goes well. Tom looks mighty good for 60, which is encouraging to us all who are leaning on or near the same post! :D Good to see your family boosting you up in your pain. What a blessing they are! You should write a book on parenting tips Christine. Or perhaps it was yall's good example?
    God is good!

  6. Good news mixed in with the sad.

Congratulations on the baby and Happy birthday to Tom. Jim turns sixty this year as well. Maybe we should start a list of the things they have in common. Could start with "lovely wives".

  10. I think what you did for Arthur was a wonderful and sweet idea.

The party was another great idea. I love the part about questions in the balloons. I am going to steal that idea some time.
