When we first moved into our cottage
the neighborhood was quiet.
But we knew it wasn't going to last long.
Little by little the apartment complex has grown.
It has been so interesting for us to watch.
The workers arrive at the break of dawn and head home when it starts getting dark.
Rain or shine, wind and sun.
They have no set hours.
We were told that they could work from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week.
(So far they have taken Sundays off.)
The noise and busyness isn't a problem.
I've even gotten to know the flaggers, who stop the cars at the end of the road.
Now they just flag me through.

So far it's four stories high.
They will be adding one more level.
Who needs entertainment when we have so much going on all around us.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how we can get used to noise after a while? We've lived by train tracks and become so accustomed to the sound we never
even noticed it.
You are definitely going to have a lot of neighbors soon.
I thought you lived in Seattle. do you really have green grass in Seattle already?
I love your sense of humor, Christine. That'll take care of most things. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, you might as well just make friends with them. ha. Love that they waive you through. :)
ReplyDeleteI kind of enjoy watching construction....it's fun to see the changes every day.
I guess the good news is they seem to be making fast progress!! Love that they have learned you and flag you through! I know they are happy to have such a nice lady passing through! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteI admire how you maintain your happiness in spite of those around you. Peace is an important thing to protect, and you do that from the inside out! Good lesson for the rest of us!

ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Wow, we needed them to help us during our remodel! So super fast!
ReplyDeleteYou will have to keep taking photos and posting them so we can watch the process with you!

Life in The Little House will never be dull! I kind of like to watch stuff like that, too. Just think, you might get some fun new neighbors in the mix as well.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are documenting it.
ReplyDeleteMy family has been in the construction business for many years. I grew up going to construction sights and walking through them. I really enjoy watching construction of new projects, from the beginning to the end. Who knows what new friends you will make when this building is completed.
