Getting Ready...

Lulu pretending and Kimmy 8 1/2 months

Just got back from another visit to Boise.
It's an 8 hour trip and this time I went by myself.
I went to help Kimmy get ready for
the birth of Silas.

Silas was on Kimmy's right side, the "wrong" side.
The best position for a baby is on the mother's left side.
My Doula training has come in handy.
Exercises with the Rebozos helped!

We also got her "Home Birth" items
and the newborn clothes freshen up and ready.
We had so much fun!

We also celebrated an early birthday for Lulu,
who will be turning six years old.
She wanted crocs.
Bright Pink!

Ila May (almost 2 yrs.) and Levi (3 1/2 yrs)

These two are good "buds".

My next trip to Boise will be for Silas' birth!
Both Kimmy and I want me to be there,
but how do you plan something like that?

  1. So lulu likes to copy Momma, that's a good sign! All the g'kids are so sweet to gaze upon.
Well, you don't really want Kimmy to be in labor for 8 hours just so you can get there.
But maybe somehow it will all work out!

  2. Kimmy is so lucky to have you! What a precious baby bump! You might have to drive those 8 hours pretty fast. :) Just kidding. :)

  3. So that's why I haven't seen a recent post from you. A good reason! I hope you make it for Silas' birth. Cute pictures of the grandkids. They make it worth the 8 hour trip.

  5. The time seems to have flown by, but probably not for expectant mom.

  8. I am crazy about that first picture! It brought the biggest smile to my face.

You must be so excited about the great arrival of Silas. If he is half as cute as his siblings, you are going to have another cute one.

You inspire me with the way you have "mothered" long distance. I feel certain that it will be the same for me when it's my turn, and you show me how it's done.

  9. It's not easy to time that trip. I drove 16 hours straight only to be a couple of hours late for Little Man's early arrival... Went early for Littlest Man's arrival... well worth the extra time... and who could not enjoy that anyway?! I am soooo excited for you all, Christine! And, my heart feels for yours over this distance.. blessings and hugs ~ tanna

  10. Hey, Kimmie's had a little practice with this. She may have a pretty good idea when you should head up that way. Just plan to stay awhile! She's so lucky to have you for a mom!

  13. Kimmy is so blessed to have you for her mother. A long distance relationship is difficult, but I am proud of you that you drove it by yourself. I wish you and your daughter and family the very best, in the birth of precious little Silas. I look forward to hearing how it went. My prayers are with you through it all.
