Singer Sewing Machine - Touch and Sew.
I had to say, Good-bye to my old sewing machine.
I had to say, Good-bye to my old sewing machine.
I bought it way back in 1972, used.
Oh, the things I have sewn!
Clothes, curtains, quilts, Christmas presents, repairs,
costumes, aprons, doll clothes,
the list goes on and on.

I was right in the middle of a very important sewing project.
The repair was going to cost more then a new machine.
Hello new machine!
A Singer Simple
A Singer Simple
What an appropriate name for me.
I wanted a machine that just sewed.
One that I didn't have to takes classes to understand.

I even get her a name.
It's Suzie.
It's Suzie.
Look at the very important project I finished!
They are called, Road Trip Pillow Cases.
These are for our grandchildren, when they visit this summer!
I'm going to fill the pockets with books and toys.
When they get here they can put their PJ's in them.
Can you tell how excited I am that they are coming here to visit?
Now, it's time to mail them,
so they can use them for the long road trip
to Grammie -Goo's House!!!!

ReplyDeleteps your header is once again THE BEST!!
ReplyDeleteI have my mom's sewing machine that after she used for her quilting and after she died I just couldn't touch it. Now a lot of the parts are lost. I also have my grandmother's sewing machine which I bought off of her when I was in middle school. My goal is to clean up (out) the back bedroom and get a brand new machine. I am going to check out the one you got. I don't need all the bells and whistles, just something to sew!
ReplyDeleteThe pillow idea is so cute. I know you can't wait to have them come visit.
Congrats on the new machine, and I love the idea of the pillows with pockets!
ReplyDeleteI'm still using my 1975 Singer! I've never even had it cleaned. I told that to a sales person at a fabric store and she gasped. It's still going strong...
ReplyDeleteI just love this idea! I know that the grandkids will too! My mom made each grandkid their own pillow case years ago and we still use them! I need a sewing machine in the worst way... would you recommend the one you bought? I sew need it to be soo easy! Miss you my friend!

I LOVE those!!
ReplyDeleteMy trusty old singer bit the dust a while back. I borrowed my mom's old trusty sewing machine (which had been my grandmother's old trusty sewing machine) and am still using it. I need a new one.
I need some gumption to sew too.
How exciting to get a new machine! The old one had a nice long life and you eulogized it well. ha. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the pillows!
Your gonna have some happy grandbabies. Those pillows are so cute!
ReplyDeleteYou are something else, Christine. Love the pillows! And it looks like a lovely sewing machine, one I might could even use. I'm still using my ancient, antique Singer, as it seems to do anything I "can" do. :)
ReplyDeleteSuzie's beautiful! I've had my very basic Singer since 1982 and I'd be lost without it! Oh, the things we've done together! :)
ReplyDeleteYour pillowcases are adorable! I'm definitely going to have to borrow this idea!
Blessings to you ~ Mary
Those cases are adorable! Love your header.
ReplyDeleteYour creativity always inspires me! I like anything with "simple" in it's name. Cute pillows!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely new machine... I like her name!
ReplyDeleteAnd what fun cases to fill for those little ones.
