Some of you already know that I take care of my
18 month old, grandson on Tuesdays.
The teacher in me loves to be creative
and have fun doing it.
I have taught Trey some sign language,
which has really come in handy.
When he wants to eat, is thirsty or wants more,
he let's me know by signing these words.
He also knows and signs the words
dog, airplane, and listen.
He understands a lot more words.
The sign for NO is one that comes to mind!
I try not to say the words that we have learned
and that he understands.
I'll sign, sit and shoes.
He then goes to his little chair,
climbs up and sits, while I get his socks and shoes on.
After his shoes are on,
we take out the garbage and recycle.
This is one of Trey's jobs.
Routine and consistence has been the key!
Last Tuesday I decided to have a cooking class.
We made cookies.
After baking, we cleaned up and emptied the dishwasher.
It was a great day.
I always look forward to my days with Trey.
They are always full of love, excitement, hugs and kisses.
Christine, You are so fortunate (and I know that you know this) to get to have those fun days with little Trey.
ReplyDeleteFun pictures!
Aww! I love how you make it so fun!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, you are a great gift of a wonderful grandmother! Enjoy creating these memories for they will last a lifetime, Christine.
ReplyDeleteTrey is so cute, Christine!
ReplyDeleteYou are both blessed to have your Tuesdays together.
I couldn't believe how big he has gotten! What a cutie and what great pictures. I know he has as much fun on Tuesdays as you do.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing to teach him! He will be the ultimate in bi lingual if you keep it up. I have it on my list of things to learn sign language. I would like to be able to do it. I keep an eye on the local continuing ed classes to see if it's offered.
ReplyDelete(With genetic hearing loss so prevalent in our family, wouldn't you think I would already know it? But no.)
How lovely, Christine.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you put fun and learning
together for your grandson.
Blessings :-)
I love that you're teaching him sign language. I've always wanted to learn that myself; it seems so difficult to this uncoordinated Southern gal.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing quite like cooking with a little one. Such energy!
You are so very, very lucky and blessed... but, you know that. Oh, that child is precious!! =D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the Seahawks win!!!
Best grammie in the world!
