Oktoberfest!
Music, dancing, eating, vendors and having just a great time walking around.
People watching is a big part of the fun.
It was for a good cause,
McPaws Animal Shelter.
Our place is only a short walk (5 mins)
to downtown.
Yet, we are surrounded by beautiful trees.
We came back to this
view off the back deck.
It's so quiet.
This is the view from our side window.
We see deer, birds and even a fox running through these trees.
We see deer, birds and even a fox running through these trees.
BUT, there have been sightings of a Black Bear
in our neighborhood.
That's why Tom bought me a can of
Bear Deterrent!
And if that wasn't enough....
He also bought me a can of Bear Mace!
The only wild animals we saw, were deer right
outside our front door.
outside our front door.
They lounged in the driveway...
And don't mind if we take pictures
of them grooming each other.
Doesn't this picture look like the
deer has two heads?
Here's a close up...
Oh ya ... I sent this picture to all my friends with the caption,
Deer with two heads
(hee hee)
It's so nice to get away from all the "noise" of the world and
spend time with someone who
loves me.

"Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but us it as bondslaves of God. Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king."
1 Peter 2:13-17
My sister sees bears and deer also where she lives. Deer can be destructive. There are three in her yard almost every day and have eaten most of her plants. I'd be more afraid of bears than deer though. Your scenery is gorgeous. You must love living there.
ReplyDeleteWell, we don't LIVE there but we do visit there often. And yes, we do love it up there.
DeleteYou live in a bit of paradise even if there are warnings of bears. Those deer are wonderful to see. I remember seeing a small herd of them one year when Rick and I visited the Jasper Park Lodge near Jasper, Alberta. It was a thrill.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your bit of paradise with us.

Hi Christine!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting...I love to meet new, like minded friends!
I live just south of Idaho Falls, in the Shelley area. I love the Nampa area, such a gorgeous place to live, but I hear that it's growing quickly. I have a niece who lives in Meridian, and she says it's getting crazy!
Your photos are awesome! Your place is beautiful, and the photos of the deer are so amazing! What a great place to live!
Idaho does have amazing sunsets, and I love photographing them, it's my passion!
I will be stopping by to visit your blog frequently, as I am your newest follower :0)
Hugs and Love,
Barb
