Before and After Pictures

Our living room was a wash of white
You couldn't tell where the ceiling ended and the wall started.
And if you take a picture of anyone on the white couch,
everyone is washed out!
It looked like we were in a hospital.

Solution, call my friend over in Seattle,
 who is an Interior Designer!

Liz said, "Paint the wall."
I asked, "What color?"
She said, "Blue"

So that is what we did.

We were also, having problems with the flat paint under our counter.
Little People's jeans would rub off,
leaving smug marks all along the wall.

Solution....

We added bead board all along the wall and under the counter.
Problem solved!

There was one more paint SITUATION.
Where I sit and read,
I have a knitting basket filled with
books, pens and pencils.

You can't really see the situation in the picture below,
 but oh.... it's there.

Someone used a pencil from my basket to
draw on the wall.

He didn't sign his name but
we know who it was.

The Artist

I'm keeping his work of art.
Nobody is painting this part of the wall!!
It's a masterpiece, in my eyes.

  1. Hi Christine~

I love the blue...I think a contrasting wall is beautiful! The bead board is such a great idea, I'm going to mention that to my daughter who has the same thing going on. And the master piece, just precious. I have a dear friend whose mother lost one of her children when he was just 3 years old. This sweet little one had left a little hand print on the back door before his death. His mother shellacked over the hand print and would not let anyone paint that spot. The home is still there and belongs to the family. I wonder if the hand print is still there? I will have to ask..

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!!

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

  2. I really like the blue wall. It changes the whole look of the room. And beadboard is great in the kitchen. I have it all around my walls. Of course the little drawing is a masterpiece. I wouldn't get rid of it either. Have a great evening.
