While Waiting...

This summer,
I didn't plant any vegetables or
put out Humming Bird food.
Because we planned on being gone most of the time.

But my garden surprised me.
These Lilies have popped out!

It's been fun to give them out to family and friends.

Speaking of giving.

My friend Mary (her blog) made these
 Lip Pouches,
 for all our grandchildren!
I can see these being used for so many things.
They'll have fun picking out which one they want.

This is how thoughtful she is!
She even made me a crossover bag.
Which I'm going to use for
all my Doula tools, when we go to Seattle.

PLUS, she made a Tag Blanket for our newest
grandson!

This week Tom and I have been on a Juice Fast for five days.
(as of this writing, we are on day 2  😲 )
So far, so good.

The idea is to get healthy and stay healthy,

When we get back from Seattle,
we'll be traveling to Salt Lake City
for Nathan's surgery.

Grandma and Grandpa NEED to be strong and healthy.

Vegetables and fruits only!

All washed.

Tom is now a pro at this juicing thing.

We juice a full days worth of drinks and have them
labeled, in disposable coffee cups.

Grab and go!

When I was at the check out line,
buying all our produce,
the store had a different idea of
Grab and Go.

  1. Hi Christine~ Your lily is beautiful, and love that you give them away, so thoughtful! Your friend is a true angel, what a nice thing to do, and they are so cute! Your grands will love them. A juice fast is a great idea! My husband and I have been doing keto for the last two weeks, and it's amazing how much energy we both have!

I had a little granddaughter in SLC at Primary Children's Hospital for 6 months at one point in time...you do need to be healthy for those sweet little ones. Nathan will be in my prayers, as well as your family.

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

  2. Good for you guys, Christine! Jerry and I only do a NO sugar/NO salt diet with lots and lots of veggies and fruits, and the only meats we eat are chicken, tuna, or fish. Rooting for ya! ♥

  4. What sweet little pouches. Your friend is so thoughtful. Even a bag for you! Joe and I have been on a low-carb diet for 3 months now and are both losing weight and feeling better. I should say we changed our lifestyle because it's a forever thing, not a diet. I hope you do well with your fast. Praying for little Nathan.

  5. I commend you and Tom for taking control of your health. Dennis and I eat a lot of vegetables, and mostly chicken or fish and eggs. No processed foods, no sugar, no dairy. Only fresh fruit for dessert. I feel so much better when I eat this way. God bless you as you start down this path to eating right. Hugs, Nancy

  6. I love your lilies! How fun to give them out, so much joy in giving! I also think that is the sweetest thing ever, those little pouches! What a thoughtful person your friend is. : ) That is really sweet.

I didn't know you were a doula! Both of my daughters delivered with a midwife and I know Michelle said she didn't know what she would have done without her doula!

Juicing is so wonderful isn't it? We try to juice every morning. Don't you love the green apple flavor with the carrots and sweet potatoes? That's some goooood stuff! I try to end with celery, it also cleans my juicer grate. ; ) lol

Just love your blog, I will pray for your grandbaby and that you kids ( you and your husband ) will have strength and joy too. Praying for God's Healing Hands.

    Love, Amelia
