Crafts aren't my forte.
Love'em but need help with getting ideas.
Last year, I tried the chalkboard paint, on a plate
and was, somewhat successful.
But this one is so easy and fun.
Thanks to Judy at Just A Little Something For You for the idea.
All you need is a plate and dry eraser markers!
To take it off, use a paper towel.
My plate sits in our kitchen and has been fun leaving messages.
It only took Tom two weeks to see his message.
(it's has been erased)
when Kimmy and kids took care of our dogs,
while we were away for the day.

Metallic-looking scratches on plates:
Most likely, they are from regular silverware use or utensils rubbing against the plates in the dishwasher. To make them vanish, apply a thick baking soda-and-water paste over the marks, and gently rub in a circular pattern until the scratches disappear; if baking soda doesn't work, try a dab of silver polish. In the future, leave some extra space between plates and flatware when filling the dishwasher.

Christine, what a great idea. I suppose leaving a daily "to do" list for hubby is out of the question since he did not notice your new piece of art for a while.
ReplyDeleteWe finally had more rain last night! Have a great day. Jude
Christine,
ReplyDeleteI just love this idea! I noticed it on your post the other day when Lulu came to visit, so I glad that your explained the "how to" today!
I've also noticed that my everyday dishes that we got as wedding presents are full of the well used silverware marks... can't wait to try your tidbit of the day!
Have a happy summer day, and from the bottom of my heart... thank you for your sweet card.
You are a blessing... Dee Dee
Great idea and super tip! John, my dear husband and I, are so fond of words, messages, notes....I will be searching for a plate the next time we thrift! The girls will love it too. ~Kelly

What a great idea!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the white plate idea... not sure that I'd have room for it in my kitchen, though. A safe place - that is. ;)
Now THAT'S fun! And how simple too.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea, and I love your header photograph. So peaceful.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Love coming here...peaceful! Thank you for always brightening my day.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
andrea
Great post my friend! I like the plate you chose. I could totally relate to how long it took for your husband to notice the message:) The message you came home to was priceless. As time goes on you will receive lots of fun messages. Thanks for another useful tip.
