This is our "new" home.
Just a quick tour because it's a small home.
We went from a 1900 sq. ft. home to
an 800 sq. ft. cottage.
That's why it's a quick tour.
This is our dining room.

Living room.
Yes, we squeezed Tom's huge TV into the cottage.
View from the dining room table.
The door is open anytime. Please come and visit.
Actually, the picture shows the door closed but you know what I mean.

This has been a exciting journey.
God has shown me the way, through each step and turn.
It started with one little step, then another. He was there and answered prayers.
After 30 years of collecting "things", today I can sit back and smell the roses.
My new saying is,
" Less things and more memories."
So, as Tom and I start a new adventure,
be sure to come back to see what we have been up to.
We will be making memories!
Welcome home my dear friend!
ReplyDeleteYour cottage is perfect and I'm so glad your back! I've got a house warming gift for you and Tom... I'll need to get your address!
Looking forward to sharing in your memories with you!

So cute! You have done such a great job making it feel so welcoming.
ReplyDeleteI have lived in an 800 square foot home for 32 years today! It is not as small as people think. Your cottage is so cute. I know you will have lots of good times there.
ReplyDeleteI just love everything about your journey! Well done!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, Christine, and your new cottage looks so warm and inviting, You are so right about sitting back and smelling the roses, God is teaching me to "Savor" the moments in life, . I sense the excitement of this new journey that you both are taking together, best wishes to you both.

Oh, wow Christine. I guess I've really, REALLY been neglecting my friends in blogland because I totally missed this bit of news in your earlier post. I was beginning to wonder where you were and was hoping all was well. Now, I know. You've been a busy little bee.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable cottage! My sister just did a very similar thing, going from a house to a tiny little apartment, but she has such a great attitude, as do you. She did it for the right reasons, and I can see you did, too.
I could use a lot of purging over here.
Wishing you many happy memories in your "new" cottage.
P.S. Between you and my sis, I'm starting the big wheels turning. I think some purging is in my future. Goodwill, here I come!
ReplyDeleteIt's so cute Christine! I'm so glad that you are finally settled!
ReplyDeleteHello Christine, Congratulation on moving into your new home. It is lovely. I am a new follower to your blog. I just notice you love Polish Pottery. I also have a collection too that I bought when I lived in Europe. Enjoy you new adventure in your new home. Hugs Judy
ReplyDeleteHi there, I am glad you are back as well and your new nest is simply wonderful. I think you'll be so free without collecting, it is amazing what we can do without. Blessings to you and your hubby as you settle in.

What a darling cottage. Can't wait to see the fun memories that you and Tom will make there! :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!
That is a cute place! Tom's TV is really, really large! How exciting to start the new year with more time for fun and exploring and less time cleaning!! Judy
ReplyDeleteYou have made your cottage a beautiful home. So happy to read you are settled! God is good :)

Christine
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for you! I love it when God throws something new into the mix.
Your home is a 'Home Sweet Home'!
Small, but charming.
Oh, that is adorable! Steve and I keep talking about moving into a smaller home and we will someday. First we have to figure out where we will live after he retires. Your cottage is the perfect size. Hey, if it holds the TV then you know it's meant to be :)
ReplyDeleteLove the cottage. Indeed, less is more...although that big TV doesn't look like less. Wink.
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! Sounds like a wonderful place to sit back and relax. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

I really love that cottage! It's a desire of my heart to live in one, too. I'm constantly keeping my eyes open for one since we don't already own one.
ReplyDeleteIt's simply wonderful to my eyes, and I love your motto.
I love little Lucy peeking about in the photos and I love Tom's TV. It looks like an IMAX screen in your little living room. How fun will that be?
ReplyDeleteI love your cottage..even calling it a cottage just make it feel welcoming and inviting.
ReplyDeleteYea for you!! You did it in record time...enjoy continuing to fill it with new memories.
You are such an inspiration, Christine! Your cottage is so peaceful and warm. LOVE the view out the dining window and I am so looking forward to enjoying your and Tom's next adventures! Congratulations on your move! blessings ~ Tanna
ReplyDeleteOh Christine, I'm so happy for you, your husband and family. We must be on the same life path, as my husband and I have been making every effort to do likewise. Currently setting up things with an auctioneer to simply sell it and buy something very small -- actually considering moving to your neck of the woods. Will be following you VERY closely. Who knows? We might find ourselves being neighbors! God's blessings to you and your husband and family.
ReplyDeleteJan....please email me!
ReplyDeleteChristine, I would love to contact you and talk further about your new cottage and lifestyle. I clicked on your profile, but was unable to get the email link to work. You may recall, it's been a long time since I blogged, so I'm mostly likely doing something wrong. You can email me at butrflyksz@yahoo.com.
ReplyDeleteChristine, this is exciting news. Thanks so much for the glimpse of your new home... it looks so cozy and comfy. You two will be a 'snug as bugs' in it.
ReplyDeleteToday I had extra time and I was thrilled to be able to visit here. I think your new cottage is so cozy and inviting! I like that you can walk to so many places, and that there are so many Starbucks within walking distance. I like that it is a new adventure for the two of you and your family. At our age, new is fun and different. I wish you so many joys and blessings in your new location. It makes me feel good to know that the door will always be opened to me. Sure do wish I could visit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your new adventures with us.
