It has been fun giving you all kinds of different hearts, this month.
When Lulu and & I say good-by, I "give" her a hand heart and tell her to put it in her pocket.
Then she gives me her hand heart and tells me to put it in my pocket.
This is for you Lulu!

What's ya been doing?

No peeking yet!

Been busy around here.
Back to work (at school and bathroom).
Trying to get the bathroom finished.
Slow process.
Returned the light fixture.
Returned the door handles.
Returned the medicine cabinet.
Looking for mirror.
Looking for new floor.
Still painting.
Haven't even started to think about decorations!
But I have a name for the bathroom.

Here's a hint....

Lemons, lemons and a Happy Meal

I rarely cook anymore.
Well, I cook but don't experiment or create fancy meals. I use to when, we had a full house and it was fun. Meals today, are the old standbys or Tom creates his concoctions (I say this lovingly).

This past weekend I tried out two new recipes.
My friends in blog-land have been inspiring me to branch out more.

Dayle at A Little Of This and That, had some very yummy looking cookies that caught my eye. Soft Lemon Coolers and so easy! Love that!

Yup, I made these...
My friend Mary, at Corner of My Life, featured some Lemon-Roasted Chicken. The recipe cooks up a lot and could be used all week. That is another one of my favorite ways to cook.

And I made these...

DarcyLee has started a new blog, just about cooking! It's called Darcy's Kitchen Kaper.

Isn't that a cute name!

So with the help of all my Blogging Friends, I hope to creep back into the kitchen with tried and true recipes. So far it's been fun!

This was our "Happy Meal"
Todd & Stephanie, (son & daughter-in-law), came over to play and helped with preparing the rest of the dinner.

Thank you Todd & Stephanie for a wonderful time!

By the way, both recipes were very excellent!.

Sanding the walls

My goal was to strip off All the wallpaper from our main bathroom. Even the flower paper under the mirror that the previous owners had.

And I'm glad to say, its' been stripped!
Twenty four years ago I put the paper up and this week it came down. It was about time.

My handy man was there with me all the way.

We even removed the huge mirror off the wall.
I will never put wallpaper up again!
When we are finished with this project, I will show more pictures.
Right now, it's back to work (bathroom work).

Random Acts of Kindness Day

February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day

"Let's take care of each other by showing compassion, concern and love."

For several years I have been secretly dropping notes of encouragement in mailboxes to teachers and staff members. Each year I buy note cards with a decorative boarders and print up the award. I got the idea from fellow bloggers, who hand out Blogger Awards to each other. This is such a sweet way to recognize someone.

I thought it would be fun to hand out an "award" and have it show up in randomly in school boxes. I keep a list of who has received an award . My goal is to have each staff member receive at least one, during the school year.

So far nobody has caught me or questioned me, (please don't tell !).
It's fun to see them hanging up near their desks or on a wall.

I had to sneak around and take these pictures.

Join me on February 17th in some sort of Random Act of Kindness. Be sure to let me know what you did and to whom.

Romans 12:10 (New International Version)
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves

John 13:34-35 (New International Version)
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

1 John 4:12 (New International Version)
No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Sugar & Sweets & Cupcakes

This was the sign outside the door in our school office.

Every year our High School hands our cupcakes to EVERY student, on or near Valentine's Day.
We have over 1900 students!

Our PTA moms were the Busy Bakers.

There were so many cupcakes, each student could of have two or three.

When I walk into the Conference Room, the smell of sugar was overwhelming.

I didn't come to temptation. Not one was eaten by me.

My daughter and I have decided to NOT eat sweets for a whole year.
So far, so good!
Thanks Kimmy for being there for me.

Now, I just have to get through Easter!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Nothing symbolizes love more completely then the heart. And for a romantic person there is no other symbol as important as the heart. A heart signifies life and if you give your heart to someone it means to handover to her or him one's existence.

Around 12th Century people were not aware the function of heart was to circulate blood inside the human body. What they knew was that heart begins to beat faster when a person is upset or excited. They, therefore, derived that the heart was the seat of emotions and feelings.

Today, even though it has been scientifically proved that emotions come from the brain, the heart remains a powerful symbol of love and Valentine's Day.

YYYYYYYYYYYYY

I have given my heart to only one man.

Happy Valentine's Day

I Love You Tom Y

All Tangled Up

Our grand daughter, Lulu, came over with her mom and brother the other day. She asked "Where is my necklace?".

I have been saving our daughter's little girl necklaces to give to Lulu, someday.
Lulu remembered that I had promised to give her one of the necklaces. So, I brought them out.

This is what I found.

Kimmy and I got two necklaces untangled from the mess.
After they left, I worked on the last bunch for another hour.
(see top picture)
Finally, they were separated.
Happy memories!
