Miracle Boy's Birthday

This is our Miracle Grandchild,
SILAS !

He was born with several heart defects that
went undetected until his first birthday!

This is Silas prepping for his Open Heart Surgery.
three years ago.
He weighed 12 lbs at 12 months!

(He almost didn't make it to his 1st birthday)
This split picture was taken right after surgery
and then,
three months later!!

Silas and his cardiologist have such a special bond!!
Every year Silas goes in for tests
to make sure his heart is working properly.

Silas sees his doctor every Sunday, at church, too!
When the doctor sees Silas,
he says hello, then picks him up,
 hugs and cuddles with him.
~ sniff sniff~

Recovery              Today

HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY
SILAS!!!

What a blessing it is to witness a miracle everyday!

Silas' story is much, much more than what I can
put down in words, today.
Just watching him run, eat, play, laugh,
talk and love as much as he does...

God is good!!!!

Sewing Again!

Our grand daughter is turning TEN!
This is a biggie, it's a double digit
Birthday!
I wanted to make a special gift for her.
The last time she spent the night,
she mentioned that she wanted a nightgown
 and bathrobe like mine.
(my heart melted)

So, off to the fabric store
to look for cute and girly patterns.
Not easy!

It was hard to find a feminine robe pattern.
Most were unisex types.

I found just the right one that is cute, feminine
 and easy

I had some ribbon that must be old as me.
I remember seeing it in my mother's sewing basket, when I was young.
(and I kept it all these years!)

It was perfect for the detail trim.
Plus, it added a little history.

I used some eyelet lace to make it even
more girly and feminine.

I like how the front opening is curved.

Perfect for a young lady
turning ten years old!

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

Hodgepodge

Our grand kids have joined a Track Team.
The three oldest were so excited for their first
Track Meet.
The weather was sunny, cold and very windy.
The wind made it even colder.
But that didn't stop them from enjoying every
minute of the afternoon.

Levi, Lulu and Ila May
For a five year old, look at her form!
Ila May can RUN!!

Lulu's turn to jump!
Each child participated in the Long Jump
and then several running events.

Here is Levi handing off the
 baton to his team mate
for the Rely Race!

**********

I made a special Birthday cake for Kimmy.
It was gluten free, and sugar free!!!
(Thank you Heather for the recipe!)

Nothing says Happy Birthday more then
ROSES!

**********
Still in the baking mode, I baked a Gluten Free
Apple Pie for the Men's Bible Study.

First time making a gluten free pie crust.

Tom is heading over to Seattle
 to work on some business.
He'll be seeing our two grand kids, without me.
(insert sad face here)

But I did bake Trey and Scarlett
some banana bread.
(it's a tradition to bring a loaf when visiting)

When I talked to Trey, he said,
"We are OUT of banana bread!"
Translation: He wants me to make him some bread.
ahhh..., I think that is so sweet!

So, when Tom packs,
this is how he folded his towel...
He rolled it up and wrapped it up with TAPE!
I just laughed!

*********

Now for some funny signs.

Same business, other side.

They have a great sense of humor!

**********

While shopping at our new grocery store,
I spotted this sight!

This is a lot of grocery carts!

That's it for now!
Keeping very busy these days.
Love it!

"Diligent hands will rule, but laziness will end in forced labor.
Anxiety weighs down a heart, but a kind word cheers it up.
The righteous choose their friend carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
The lazy do not roast any game, but the diligent feed on riches of the hunt.
In the way of righteousness there is life; along the path is immortality."
