Seattle and Back

We traveled over to Seattle
and stayed for a few weeks.

We didn't go alone.
Our daughter and son-in-law came,
along with the 5 grand kids!

It was a fun but a sad trip.
We have sold our little Cottage
and the properties next door,
where we kept our trailer.

Inside our trailer
It was so convenient when we visited Seattle to
have our own little place to stay.
I called it The Penny Lane Condo,

The hardest part was saying good-bye to our
 Little Cottage.
We lived there for three years.
It holds so many wonderful memories

Inside the Cottage

Lulu, one more time at...

The Little Free Library,
that we built.
It's still going strong!

Tom bought the Cottage
a few years after he moved into
 the "other" little house.
Both the "Business" house and our little Cottage,
side by side

Tom ran his business here for 22 years.
Then the building was rented out.

The back door.

This huge hedge and opening
 is between the two properties.

These adorable little homes were built in the 1930's.

******
The trip wasn't all "good-byes"

While we were visiting,
we went to our grandson's Pre-School graduation.

We also celebrated Todd's hard work.
He is renovating his basement,
one wheel barrow and one nail at a time,
with a lot of sweat.

The cement crew came to pour
a perfectly level floor,
that Todd has been working on.

Trey peeking in.

I added my 4 cents worth.

Each penny has the birth year of
Todd, Steph, Trey and Scarlett.
They carefully place them in sight
 but not in the way.

We also celebrated Father's Day, while in Seattle.

Tom got a hand, painted shirt...

and an apron, with a picture of ALL
the grandchildren,

Then headed home, with our trailer in tow.

God only knows
what our next adventure will be.
We are looking forward to
what He has in store for us.

MIA... but With Good Reason

Big Kids Overnight.
Levi and I dressed alike, not planned!
Teaching Lulu to do Cross-stitch.
Building towers with colorful, plastic cups
and watching them fall.

Levi got called on the carpet for bugging his sister and
jumping on the couch!
Do you think he took me seriously?

*============*

Tom and me with five of our grandchildren

We all went together for a day trip
 to Baker City, Oregon.
It's about a two hour drive, north of Boise.

We went to see the
National Historic Oregon Trail
Interpretive Center

It's a hands-on museum and the kids
had so much fun. They even got to play inside a
wagon and dressed up as pioneers.

What a great museum!
Anything you wanted to know
about the Oregon Trail, you can learn there!

Did you know that the wagons weren't pulled by horses?
They used Oxen because the Oxen will eat anything!

Oh look, it's a Pioneer family...
NO wait a minute!!

They didn't wear tennis shoes back then!

Or did they?

Valentine's Day Party
Every Tuesday, we have the Kimmy's family
over to our home, for a dinner.
Just so happened, Valentine's Day landed on
a Tuesday!
Kimmy made us a sugar free, fat free
dessert, that was so yummy!

*============*

The day after the party, Tom and I headed over to Seattle.
We thought it was going to be smooth sailing,
because of all the snow that melted.
NOPE!
Our 8.5 hour drive, took 10 hours
because of fog, black ice and snow.

But well worth it !

Look at how big Trey and Scarlett are getting!
(Our son, Todd and Stephanie's children)

Trey is four and Scarlett is one.

 We were so busy.
First off were swim lessons!
Trey is like a fish in water.

Then we celebrated Tom's 65th birthday.
The kids were amazed at Tom's singing ability,
or scared !

First time bowling for Trey
and he beat me!

The kids were amazed at how the ball
just shoots back up to the rack!

And of course we snuggled and laughed a lot.

Miss you guys!

When you visit Seattle on a beautiful day, there is
nothing like a ferry boat ride.

We rode a ferry to visit my
ninety one year old,  Aunt Bobbie.

I don't think Tom even noticed he was the only
man in the Tea Room that day.
 What a guy! I'm blessed!

The ride back was just as beautiful!

Seattle,
my old hometown!

So Many Celebrations... So Many Pictures

Tom and I just returned from a trip to Seattle.
Boy, did we celebrated!

Two Birthdays!
Stephanie, our daughter-in-law, received the
picnic blanket, I made for her birthday.

Trey celebrated turning 4!!!!!
We gave him, his very own shovel, rake, hat and work gloves.
He is really into dirt.
He went right to work, digging in his play area.
We also, celebrated with Trey's friends and family
with a party for him.
Todd and Steph bought a blow-up slide for all
the kids to play on.
Perfect for this very HOT day!

One of the days, Tom and I got to babysat,
while mom and day went to work.
Hot tub, Bonfire, walks to the "Club House",
(otherwise know as the grocery store for a cookie)
and snuggles.
Just couldn't get enough!

LOOK WHO IS WALKING!!!!
We celebrated this moment!
Scarlett took some of her first steps
while we were there!
In this picture, Papa is dragging Trey.
It's a fun thing, that they do together.

We visited and celebrated
my Aunt Bobbie's new home.
She now lives with her grandson and is so happy!
We went out for a seafood lunch.
(Really miss fresh seafood)
On our way back to Seattle,
we rode on a ferry boat.
Ahhh...fresh, salt water air!!

Tom and I went to our annual, concert at a winery.
We joined hundreds of others, waiting in line.
Another evening, we walked around Redmond and celebrated, Night Nosh.
There were  a variety of food trailers with live music and dancing.

It's always fun to go "home" and visit with family
and the friends we left behind.
Seattle / Redmond, will always have a place in my heart.

We are home now and enjoying the end of summer.
Looking forward to Fall!

Seattle and Back

Yes, I've been gone for awhile.
This is the second reason why!

We traveled over to Seattle after a l-o-n-g
winter. It has been four months since we
were there last.
Family and friends were missed and
 we needed to catch up.

I've been wanting to show you this sign for a long time.
I laugh every time I read this.
I see this when we drive to Seattle.

Someone has a great sense of humor!

When we arrived at the Penny Lane Condo,
(aka the trailer we stay in),
we were greeted with a special gift.
The foot print of our, now, 6 month old grand daughter, Scarlett
and the hand print of  3 1/2 year old, Trey.

This is the front door of our
Penny Lane Condo.
Lucy is the official greeter.

Couldn't get enough kisses and hugs!

Scarlett couldn't keep her eyes off
of Papa!

Trey was so excited to show me everything
he has learned.
This was impressive.

 We did so many things!
Swim lessons
Open House at Trey's school
Played in the park
Read books
Visited the Seattle Science Center

It was so sweet to hold and be
with our grandchildren.
Scarlett is sitting up on her own now,
under the careful eye of Ommie!

We left early in the morning before the sun came up.
What a wonderful send off.
