Easter Egg Hunt

Our church sponsored an Easter Egg Hunt for
We have a great partnership with the YWCA.
All year long, we offer help and service.

There were over 30 little ones and a few big ones,
along with their moms or dads.

We didn't forget about the adults.
We served fresh coffee, juice
along with yummy muffins and donuts.

It was a success and a lot of fun.
You could tell by the chocolate smiles.
The weather was perfect.
So many happy and cute kids.

First Day of Spring, Forty Years Later

I have a special friend
who has been more like a sister (Fremily),
for over 57 years.
Click here and here to read our story.

Forty years ago today, we made a date
to have lunch and go shopping.

We knew way back then,
 that our friendship would last.

Happy First  Day of Spring!

We talked on the phone today and
laughed, laughed and laughed.

Just like we have for over 57 years.

Birthday Visit

Tom and I just got back from a road trip to Boise.

Lulu, Levi and Ila May

We celebrated Kimmy's 30th birthday.
One of the gifts she received, was a necklace
that my mom gave me on my 30th birthday.

Happy Birthday Kimmy!

Kimmy is due with Silas sometime in mid May.

You Can Fight City Hall and Win!

This is the picture I took and sent to the mayor of our town.

Our neighborhood is growing.
There is another building going up,
next door to us.
Four, "green" condos with solar panels, heated floors,
and great neighbors
There is a waiting list of more then 30 people!

The telephone pole was going to be
moved 10 feet towards us and
right next to our 100 year old tree!

In order to get the electrical wires to our cottage,
they would have to trim all the lower branches
 of this beautiful, old tree.
Not to mention drilling around the tree's roots.
I was afraid they would kill the tree!

Emails were flying!
I sent one to the mayor of our town.
Today, I heard from the City Engineer.
They have changed their minds and
the pole stays where it is now!
V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!
God answered my prayer!

Spray paint used to mark the new location.

View from our porch.
Most of those branches would of been cut off.

These condos are going up fast!
(click the picture to enlarge)

Interested?
 Only a 1/2 million!

Out For A Sunday Drive

Alki Beach...
the birth place of Seattle

Getting to Alki Beach is half the fun.
We cross several bridges
and go through a couple of tunnels.

When you "pop out", you see is downtown Seattle.

Crossing over the West Seattle bridge,
from downtown Seattle to Alki, is so awesome.
The Seattle skyline in breath taking.

Driving around the Alki Beach area,
we always find something
fun or different.

Ahhha... Beach at low tide, on a sunny afternoon.

We'll be back soon!

COP

Change of  Plans:

 Intentional Giving

Yes, I will be doing my "intentional giving" (see previous post), but I won't be posting about it.
I was wrestling, thinking, pondering, studying and praying,
if I should be posting about my giving.
I came to the conclusion that this should be done in private.

I studied the Bible specifically about giving.
I found, we are not to abstain from doing good deeds.
But we are not to shine a light or call attention to ourselves when doing these good deeds.

So........ with that, I will continue to give but won't be posting about it. Just know, I'm having fun!

Matthew 6:1-4

“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
