4th of July

This year we did something out of the ordinary for
🧨 the 4th of July ðŸ§¨

We went to a Demolition Derby!

I knew we were into something exciting when there were
a lot of young men wearing these brightly colored shirts!

The idea in a demolition derby is to hit
and wreck, smash, crush
 and disable your competitor.

It was very hot, extremly loud (ear plugs are a-must)
and very dusty but FUN!
We were out in ALL the elements!

We went with our friends,
 who make this a family tradtion
every 4th of July.

As the sun was setting,
this Red White and Blue stripped car was the winner! How appropriate that he was the last car standing!

The Great Harvest

Our new addition to the garden...
Pink Lady Apple Tree.

It came with a very small apple growing at the top.
Perfect for grandchildren to look at but not touch.

This apple tree was like a our new "child".
We took so many pictures,
 it was hard to pick which ones to post!

After reading and learning about when and how to pick apples, it was time.

You twist, pull and it should
come right off.

It was small but packed with so much flavor.

I'm already anticipating taking a juicy bite of an apple, next year.

Peachy Keen

It's time to pick peaches and bless
family, friends and load up the freezer and shelves.

The first year we lived in this home, we would get
people knocking on our door asking,
"Are the Peaches ready?"
And every year after that...

This is just the start of our harvesting process.

There are so many more, still on the branches.

~~~***~~~
" Kock, Knock!!
Are you ready Tom?
The neighbors are starting to line up outside our door! "
😳
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Produce From The Garden
~~~**~~~

I'm ususally up before dawn and "play" in the garden.
I like to call it, Pajama Gardening
Definition: Working in the garden in you PJ's
before the hot sun pops out.

But Tom was nice and took a picture of me dressed and
ready for my day.

Our family, friends and neighbors have enjoyed
some of our bounty.

I had Bumper crops of lettuce and zucchini.
Ate salads everyday.
Gave away multiple loafs of Zucchini Bread.
With plenty zucchini in the freezer.

Lettuce anyone?

~~~~**~~~
Every Thursday night, we have the family over for dinner.
Last Thursday we ate from the garden!
Salad: lettuce, tomatoes, pickled beets, green peppers, cucumbers and
 for dessert, Peach Cobbler.
I am so happy I planted a garden this year.
Now I know what I want to do next year and what I won't be doing.
I even kept a Gardening Journal.
 A little sad to clean out part of the garden.
I do have some late growing
vegetables popping up!
New Traditions
 One year older!
One more year of joy,
 One more year of love,
 One more celebration.
I had one of my best celebrations, yet!
Dinner, presents with CAKE AND PIE!
Both were lemon!!!
Oh, Kimmy knows me so well.
After dinner, we jumped into the the van and headed to our neighboring town,
to walk around and enjoy all the
Christmas Lights.
We bundled up and were so excited to be out and about with so many others, enjoying the excitement of Christmas.
And this was on a Tuesday night!
 It was like one big party
I think we have started a new tradition!
*-------*-------*
 Well, I got "It "!
I was down for about a week.
 I wasn't going to put up our Christmas Tree, but then reinforcements came!
Our grand daughters were so much help.
Not only did they put up the tree but decorated the house.
They did such a wonderful job. We all had fun!
Banjo is happy!
His first Christmas with us.
New tradition has been started.
*-----*-----*
How blessed am I?
Ila May came over to help make Christmas cookies
 for our Christmas Eve Service, at church.
I love all this help.
I have always said, it about making memories!
Another new tradition!
A Stay At Home Grandma
Tom and I have elected to stay home
 as much as possible.
We have keep up our reading the Bible, from start to finish.
Right now we are at the end of Psalms.
I find this book to be very pertinent!
We have our Clorox Wipes going full time!
Vitamins for breakfast, eating a spoonful of chopped garlic before lunch and gargling salt water before bed.
But before we confined ourselves to home, we took Banjo to the Vet to get his Rabies shot.
All his shots are now completed!
Someone said that this picture of him,
looks like he is smiling!
Social Distancing, a new term for me.
 I take Banjo for  walks several times a day.
I use this time for training.
He is learning to sit when I stop, without me telling him.
To walk next to me without pulling on the leash.
and to be polite to others we see.
But he doesn't understand Social Distancing, yet!
Mr. Pickles ( our neighbors dog) and Banjo
 just don't have it in them to keep their distance.
We don't confine ourselves completely to our home.
We take Banjo for practice Car Rides, for the future.
Banjo enjoys the window down.
I even think he fell asleep looking out the window.
The other day I organized and took an inventory
of what we have on hand in our garage pantry.
While out in the garage with me,
Banjo saw himself for the first time in the hubcap.
He curious and couldn't figure it out.
It was so funny, I just had to take a picture.
I'm keeping busy at home.
I brought out Susie, my sewing machine,
We have 5 birthdays coming up real soon!
Three little boys are getting
Paw Patrol Pillowcases!
Three presents down, two to go!
So, tell me, how you are doing at this time?
If you are staying home, what are you doing to keep busy?
I know I have read a lot more, especially about how to keep healthy.
I really like how others are sharing their information on recipes, thoughts, prayers, health, home school ideas and just just about anything else helpful.
Do you have any?
Matthew 6:25-34
Do Not Worry
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Be Sate and Healthy !
One day at a time......
