Birthday

Tom ordered a birthday cake for Kimmy.
Some how, it didn't turn out the way he wanted.
Close enough.
We Love Kimmy and she turned 29.

 Table was set, dinner ready.
 Tom's sister Linda came.
We call her "Grandma" Aunt Linda because we love her and
she doesn't have any grandchildren.
So, when she moved back here,
we have adopted her, as another Grandma.

Lulu and Levi were so excited for the cake.
First we sang the traditional birthday song.
Then we sing different birthday song.

The excitement was building.
Right after I snapped this picture,
Levi blew out all the candles.
He just couldn't hold back.
Boy, does he have the wind power.

 Happy 29th Birthday
Kimmy!

Love Kimmy 29!

  2. I had to smile at the message on the cake, but hey ... it said what needed saying, huh? Happy 29th to Kimmy! Oh how the years start flying from here.

  3. Did Kimmy stomp her foot and cry when someone else blew out her candles? That's what my kids did. I have video proof . . .

  4. Aww...Happy Birthday, Kim!

I think I remember seeing somewhere a few years ago someone posted a very funny post of cake messages gone wrong. I'll have to try and find that. It was hilarious. It looks delish anyway...and the important parts of the message were there! ha.

She and her family are beautiful.
I think it's great Tom's sister can now share a part in your fun
family gatherings and I'm sure you all find it a blessing, as well!

  10. Hi Christine - Such a lovely family! Always so wonderful to get together with the generations - seems like yesterday when we were the kids looking forward to such moments and now we're the ones hosting them for our own.

Bless you and thank you for your encouraging words on my post today. It's been a trial and I don't feel like I've walked it with quite the high marks at all times, but, the Lord before me - in the most trying of days, I am through the darkness and into the Light. Expecting some aftershocks. But, the Lord is there, too.

    Goodness and beauty to come!
    Joy!

  11. What a beautiful posting! And what a lovely thought about 'Grandma Aunt Linda'!

Christine, I had to stop by and THANK you for the lovely quotes you left me about missing those we love.
    I felt missed and loved...

It's a funny thing, a couple of ladies from my church group told me this morning they were missing me too. (I've been absent on a few fronts ever since I took on this part-time job with Rick where we work nights -- it really 'changes' the dynamics of our days!)

    Hugs to you....

  12. Wow, how fast our children grow and then their kids! My oldest is 28 and so is his wife, and I can't hardly believe it has been that long...so Happy Birthday to you both, because the Mom goes down all those memory lanes each year also...I have one turning 26 this week, how time flies

  15. You and your family certainly show us all, how to open up our hearts and home to our family. What a special way of celebrating your daughter. I can't help but think of how much her heart was blessed by all the love you showered on her. The pictures are beautiful! So is your new banner picture.
