My favorite pot destroyed
Or so I thought!
Helpful Hint:
*Cover burnt on food with vinegar
*Bring to a boil
(be sure to watch it)
* Remove to cool down
(remember to turn off the stove)
*Scrub with a stain-steel scrubbing pad.
I went a step further and cleaned the
whole pot with,
Bar Keepers Friend
It's like it never happened.
I'm very happy!
LOL! Bless your heart. So glad you got it all cleaned up again. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteWell, good to know. So glad that you caught this before a "real" fire broke out. Think that pot is good for another few years for sure.
ReplyDeleteI think Bar Keeper's Friend is a miracle product!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this hint! I have a pot that I just burnt. I am going to do this!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to have a comment on my post! I look forward to reading your blog. I am also an Idaho girl-Preston! Here's to a new friendship.
ReplyDeleteThis is so helpful! I don't like it when a good pan looks like it is ruined. I have been using a lot of white vinegar lately and it works wonders. You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so glad your beautiful pot was restored to its shiny best.
ReplyDeleteChristine, I ruined my Le Crueset dutch oven when I first cooked on a new stove and the burner got hotter than I thought it would--enamel flecks popped everywhere.
But I do use vinegar constantly to clean pots. The residue from dried beans is the worst to deal with, or chicken that has been poached. I probably need to get some Bar Keepers Friend too.
Did you skip rice for that meal or make another pot? I probably would have been so mad at myself I would have skipped it!
We have all made that mistake, Christine! BKF is a lifesaver, for sure. I love to use it on the sink every now and then. It makes a huge difference.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall!!
wow, wow, wow! How did you know that I have a burnt pot? I was about to toss it, but will give this a try. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
