Wind, Rain, Thunder and Lighting

It's Autumn!

I watched the storm come in.
And came, it did!

The picture below is our backyard,
 showing you our Peach Tree.

It's blurry because of all the rain.
Lots of hard rain.
Then the wind came!

The next picture was taken just 20 minutes later,
after the wind had stopped.

And just as fast as the storm came in,
it moved on.

Our poor Peach Tree didn't know what hit it!

Then the sun came out!

I know where all the leaves went.
The wind blew them onto our patio!
Only a few leaves made it into the yard.

The other day, Levi (our oldest grandson)
was over to help Papa
 with some "boy type" jobs.

Fence needed fixing.

And the lawn needed mowing.

Hey Levi!......
Come on back!

Help Papa pick up all those leaves!

Then He said to His disciples. "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few."
Matthew 9:37

  1. Hi Christine~

Wow!! That looks like a crazy storm, those clouds looked pretty scary! Your poor tree! Isn't it funny how things can change in just a few minutes?!

That's awesome that your grandson can come over and help your husband, what a great kid! Don't you just love living by your grandkids?!

We still have lots of leafs on the trees, even more on the lawn. I guess that will be our job later this week. Soon the snow will fly and hopefully we will have them all cleaned up. Cherishing these nice days!

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

  2. What a storm! You really showed it well. The sky looked so ominous before the storm and so beautiful afterwards. I never rake up my leaves. I leave them as mulch for the grass and they provide nitrogen to the soil.

Levi is a gem to come help you out with the yard work. Wish we lived closer. I would hire him.

  4. I love seeing the storms rolling in! The leaves are so pretty with the pumpkins. We received quite a bit of rain yesterday as the front rolled in, I'm just loving the fall!

Your grandson is so cute helping with Papa! The grandpas sure enjoy those grandchildren and I think that's great!

Enjoyed your little entry here, so nice. : )

    Hugs and Blessings!

  5. WOW,that was quite a storm, Christine, Levi is an exceptional grandson, one on one time is so precious, even if work is involved. You have such a wonderful family.
We are due for storms today, these are the ones who came through Dallas and did so much damage, though we are told they have weakened somewhat, to which I am so thankful.
    Happy to see you blogging.
    Blessings,
    Sue

  6. Oh my!! That storm took summer away quickly...it's truly fall in your yard now, well, at least for the peach tree. And what a great helper you have. I know these are memories he'll have forever! Enjoy those kids!

  7. This is really neat that the Grandson gets to help out. A valuable thing to do. Beautiful lawn you have. These storms that quickly blow in and quickly leave are the my kind of storm. Hopefully they don't damage too much. Pleasant thoughts,
    d

  8. We've gotten a little rain but not much our way. But we will take what we can get. Planted collards and sunflowers and oh do we need it. But I do not like those high winds. That can get frightening quick! Looks like you sure had a good little helper there too! Love seeing the kids help out with things. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
