LOOK WHAT WE DISCOVERED!

Colored plastic cups in
FOUR different colors!!

We had the two older grandchildren
stay overnight.
They were entertained for hours
building towers.
It took skill, patience and
a little help to reach the top.

 The best part was...
watching the tower fall down!

Another special time was
watching Lulu bake,
all on her own!
She is gluten free and made baked oatmeal
with oats that are gluten free!
She enjoys this recipe and decided to
add it to her growing collecting
of recipes.

Oh, just one more tower before bed!

Tom and I started volunteering.
It's at drug and alcohol program,
plus a health clinic.

How fun to do with Tom!
Very rewarding, too!
It reminds me of the school job,
 I retired from.

I greet those that come in at the front desk.
I also call patients,
to see how they are doing
and if there is something that we can do
to help them.

Tom says I'm a natural at this.
I told him I did something similar for years,
so it is easy.
A lot of memories came back from my
working days.

What is the difference
between a Clementine and Tangerine?

Clementines are the smallest members of the
mandarin family and are seedless.
The peel is smooth, glossy and a deep orange.

They are available from
November until April.

This varietal was created by a French missionary
over a 100 years ago.
His name was Marie-Clement Rodier.

Clementines have been a staple, as a centerpiece,
on our kitchen table for the past month.

Look what landed on the table
when I replenished
the bowl.

Baby It's Cold Outside

This "picture" was taken this morning.
The temperature keeps going down
and I love it!

Christmas is packed away for another year.
Some of my friends are a little
disappointed that all the lights and
sparkle from the decorations are gone.

Not me!
I have my Snowmen and candles that brighten our home.

I have been collecting Snowmen for years.
When we downsized and moved,
I sadly had to let go of most of them.
But not my favorites!
The kitchen corner holds most of them.

The  top of the refrigerator has a few.

This year I add two more.
Actually, the grand kids added these
to the french doors, that go outside.

A few snowmen found their way into the living room.
It might be cold outside
but the sun is shining,
right through our windows.

With the glow of the candles
and the joy of my Snowmen,
our home is warm inside.
