Midwives' and Motorcycles

What an exciting day I had today!

Midwives from all around the state of Washington came to our state capital today.

Kimmy and I, along with the grandchildren, were there to support all these Midwives as they visited their state Legislators. The visits were scheduled ahead of time and we went to their offices for "informational visits".

The Midwives' spoke to numerous politicians, thanking them for their current support and efforts that insure access to the safe and cost-effective services of Midwives. Plus, there was a House Bill that they (we) wanted them to support, that was soon up for a vote.

We finished our visit and then toured the Capital. We made sure to take a lot of pictures because we both are doing a post of today!

We were not the only ones visiting our State Legislators. Many motorcycle clubs were in Olympia also. They made an entrance that was loud and impressive.

  6. I really appreciate the role of midwives and this must have been a special day for you, your daughter and your grandchildren. I liked all of the pictures. You are a young looking grandma! As for the pictures of you and the bikers...that brought a smile to me. My husband and I have been riding Harleys for years. It is our favorite pasttime to do together. We ride with different groups of friends and have seen many miles of gorgeous countryside. Does that make me a "biker babe"? No, I am just a grandma who rides motorcycle on occasion.

  7. How very cool! What a fun day.

I love our capitol buildings. I took the kids there last year. It was really very interesting. We also visited the Law Library across the parking lot. Then we went out the back and saw the Fallen Officers Memorial and went down to the lake. It was a fun day.

We live in a very wonderful state. I've lived elsewhere and i like it here best.

I am enjoying my job a lot. I was trained to help with reading assessments and have been paid to do assessments for the last 2 weeks in my down time.

    Take care,
    Nannette
