Saying Good-by Is Always Hard

Today we said a tearful, final, Good-by to
King Arthur Fonzarelli.
But we called him Arthur or Artie.
His kidneys failed him.

Arthur was Tom's buddy.
Arthur would greet Tom when ever he came home.
We called it a "touch and go".
Arthur would run down the walkway to Tom,
touch him with his nose and run back inside.
They took naps together.

For years they went on daily walks, rain or shine.
Always dressed appropriately.
Then came the day when Arthur couldn't
make the trip anymore.

Lately, Tom would give him daily injections.
 Always followed by ice cream.
Tom made Arthur's end days so comfortable.
And let me say, at times it wasn't an easy task.

They were Best Buds!

Eleven years wasn't long enough.

But we did have eleven great years.

Arthur will be missed because
You were Loved!

There is never an easy time to say goodbye but once the pain eases, hopefully you will have wonderful memories to carry with you. Sounds like your man loved your pup so much. Sending prayers up for peace and grace for you during this time.

My heart and my eyes hurt from reading this. So sad. I want to get a little terrier for Savannah when the money is there as she wants her own little pet.
This just hurts to read this.
God bless you guys as you hold on to the beautiful sweet memories of your little family member.

  4. Christine, my heart goes out to ya! It's so hard to lose a beloved pet. We've been there too. What a wonderful home and life he had. So many don't. It is amazing how much personality they have and how much they entertain and add to our lives. Dangit it's hard! Time heals, but it goes awfully slow when there's such a gap left in our heart. He certainly was a sweet looking little fella and I know your hubby is missing him too. I've been thinking about Beau lately and knowing he will not be around too many more years. I've found the best way to fill the gap is to simply wrap my broken heart around another one. Hope you guys will too! With summer coming up you'll have time to housebreak him! Or her! Hugs friend, Deb
