The Big Melt

We've had so much snow this Winter.
Here is the Boise area,
it has been "record levels" of snow.
Not only snow, but freezing temperatures that
wouldn't let the snow to melt.

So for two and half months,
 starting back on Dec. 6th,
we've been buried under several feet of snow.

Until now!
Here are a series of pictures from
 our backyard snow melt.

Just when I thought the snow was going away,
it snowed two inches!

The picture below is interesting,
because it looks like fluffy mounds of snow.
I was actually standing on one of those
mounds, taking the picture.
Rock hard snow!

This was a few days ago.
Most of the snow is gone, in the major
part of our backyard.
The North side still has snow.

I can't wait to start hanging up laundry on the line outside. Getting dirt under my fingernails from working in the garden.

  1. Wow! Your snow has melted a LOT more than ours! I was trying to reach a baby chick that got out of the coop, and couldn't get back in, and I was walking in snow close to my hips. I could hardly move. We have a lot of melting of snow yet to take place here! I am glad you can see your ground again, for sure, spring is not far off now! Any snow that comes won't last long with the lengthening days :)

  3. Great snow pics. As a kid, I used to love standing on those rock hard snowdrifts that would come in the deep of snow blizzards.

Nice to see the ground ... I like that you still hang clothes outside.

    Wishing you a beautiful week,
    Brenda

  8. We had some nice melting going on, and then it turned colder and now we have more snow on top of what was still left. It was nice while it lasted, though. xo
